Third-Party Data Sources & Online Services (Runtime)

Guardian may fetch data from third-party services at runtime. These services are not bundled with the Software. Data is displayed directly in the user's browser and is not redistributed. You are responsible for complying with any applicable third-party terms.

  • NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) — All space weather data including Kp index, solar flux index (SFI), sunspot count, solar wind speed and density, IMF Bt/Bz, aurora status, D-RAP ionospheric absorption, particle flux, radio blackout forecasts, and solar flare probabilities. Data products are generally public domain; do not imply NOAA endorsement or present modified content as official NOAA products.
  • CelesTrak (TLE/OMM) — Orbital elements for ISS, CSS (Tiangong), and user-specified satellites. Data provided by CelesTrak and/or upstream providers; subject to their terms. If exporting or redistributing orbital elements, verify applicable source terms.
  • GIRO (Global Ionosphere Radio Observatory) — Ionospheric data reference for MUF/foF2 indicators. Subject to provider terms.
  • MET Norway (met.no) — Weather data for DE station location. Subject to provider terms and rate limits.

Data Sources — Detailed

Space Weather Data (All Sources)

NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) — swpc.noaa.gov. Products include: Planetary Kp Index, Solar Region Summary, Solar Wind data (ACE/DSCOVR), Geomagnetic Forecast, D-RAP data, Particle Flux data, Radio Blackout probabilities, and Solar Flare probabilities.

HF Band Conditions

Derived heuristically from NOAA/SWPC solar indices. Not a real-time ionospheric model. For reference only.

Ionospheric Reference Data

GIRO (Global Ionosphere Radio Observatory) — MUF and foF2 reference values.

ISS & CSS (Tiangong) Position

Propagated on-device from TLE data using satellite.js (SGP4). TLEs refresh from CelesTrak when available; embedded fallback TLEs used at startup and when offline.

Custom Satellites

TLE data fetched from CelesTrak by NORAD ID when available. User-supplied TLEs propagated in-browser using satellite.js.

DE Station Weather

MET Norway Locationforecast 2.0 ("met.no") compact forecast endpoint.

Clocks and Astronomical Data

Sunrise/sunset, moon phase, and time data computed locally using browser Intl APIs and on-device astronomical calculations. No external API call.
