Version 1.0 — Launch Release
Release Date: June 2026
First public release of Guardian. Establishes the core space weather, propagation, and signal-environment situational-awareness dashboard for operators, communicators, educators, preparedness users, and technical professionals.
Space weather dashboard:
- NOAA/SWPC-powered data integration — Kp index with G-scale, solar flux index (SFI), sunspot count, solar wind speed and density, IMF Bt/Bz
- Aurora status with A-index and estimated equatorial boundary
- D-RAP ionospheric absorption display (High/Low/None with HAF reference frequency)
- Particle flux monitoring — proton flux ≥10 MeV and electron flux >2 MeV
- Radio blackout forecast — R-scale probabilities for next 24 hours
- Solar flare probabilities — C-class, M-class, X-class, and proton event percentages
- Kp index bar chart showing 3-hour values across today’s forecast window
- Radiation event tracking with 3-day probability outlook
HF propagation and signal conditions:
- HF band conditions table — 160m through 6m, day and night columns
- MUF and foF2 heuristic reference indicators
- GIRO noted as an ionospheric-data reference
- Band conditions derived from current SFI, Kp, and solar-flux data
Satellite tracking:
- ISS and CSS always-on tracking with AOS/LOS and in/out-of-view status
- SAT 1 and SAT 2 optional overlays with footprint rings and orbit trails
- Custom satellite entry by NORAD ID or TLE paste
- CelesTrak automatic lookup by NORAD ID
- Satellite tooltips with full orbital parameters
Local reference context:
- Local reference location entry — callsign if desired, latitude/longitude, city, state
- All satellite visibility computed relative to the selected local reference location, also called DE or QTH by radio operators
- Sunrise/sunset times for the selected location
- Moon phase display
- Local weather at the selected location: temperature, humidity, wind
Custom ticker:
- Up to 5 configurable public RSS/XML feed URLs
- Adjustable scroll speed
- Custom text entry for local notes, reminders, or operational messages
Operational design:
- Provider safety governor — automatic fallback when NOAA/SWPC feeds are unavailable
- CelesTrak provider safety with embedded TLE fallback
- Feed-status indicator showing freshness of all data sources
- Local-first: last-good space weather values remain displayed when connectivity drops
- In-app Help overlay and Info panel with keyboard shortcuts
- Full-screen browser-based interface — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari on Windows, macOS, Linux
